OUR TECHNOLOGY
ACU: Ammonia Cracking Unit
Our ammonia cracker is commercially ready at TRL-9 with the following unqiue features:

Bootstrapped power consumption - its only uses our cracked ammonia to power the ACU.

Affordable Catalysts - other crackers normally use costly platinum group metal catalysts which become a liability when scaling up to higher output ACUs.

Ammonia to Power
Grid or no grid, our ammonia to power units can generate unlimited, seamless and clean electricity anywhere needed. Starting at 300 KVA mobile units and up to 5Mw turbines, Qool Energy is working with industry leaders in delivering scalable, clean power solutions which meet the strictest emissions & safety controls.
Cooling & Heating
Our ammonia to power solutions generate substantial amount of "waste heat". Collaboration with industry leaders in absorbption cooling, we are able to combined our power generation with valuable cooling or heating where needed.
The datacenter industry uses 33% of its power on cooling. At Qool Energy we are adding additional power and cooling to the limited energy resources of this emergiing industry.

EV Charging Stations

Starting at 2-cars, from stand alone stations to multi-truck charging stops, our EV charing solutions are based on our propreitary ammonia to power technologies, and our proprietary EV charging managment system.
Ammonia Fueled Power Generators

​Our scalable and modular designed power generators are a combination of our proprietary ammonia-cracker (ACU) which converts ammonia to hydrogen and through combustion into mechanical energy derived electricity. ​
Applications include ship power, auxiliary power units, shore power, backup power units, off-grid power solutions and micro-grids.

Power Barges

There is a shore-power crisis in Europe following the implementation of strict emissions controls in all European ports. The power barge has become the "go to" solution for powering moored or docked ships at port. ​Similar to fueling barges at ports, our collabortation with industry leaders in the shipping industry have challenged us to deliver our propreitary ammonia to power solutions on portable power barges. Ammonia is commonly avaiailble and regulated at most sea ports.

Combined Power & Cooling

​Our patented process generates twice as much thermal energy than need to produce electricity. We harness that "waste heat" to create an additional cycle of power in form of cooling through a process know as "absorption cooling", rendering our combined units both elecitrical generators and industrial chilling units = both in high demand in the datacenters industry where usually over 30% of the power requriements are cooling.

Gil Shavit
Co Founder & Chairman
Mentor, innovator and entrepreneuer. Former co-founder and former CBDO at GenCell Ltd, once an industry pioneer in developing hydrogen and ammonia to power solutions. BSc in electrical & electronics engineering. Gil is devoted to creating the next generation of Israeli engineers as a Board Member of ORT Schools & Colleges. In his spare time Gil is a musician, film-maker and rower.
Avi Drori
Co Founder & CEO
Entrepreneur in climate-tech, life sciences & agriculture. Avi is dedicated to impact investing in Africa, promoting sustainiable food security projects. Former founder and CEO of MedC Biopharma, a skin cancer R&D company and former CM at Thales Alenia Space. A graduate of Harvard business school entrepreneurial studies program, in his spare time Avi is also a senior contributor and columnist at the Daily Brief.
Udi Erell
Head of Maritime
Udi Erell brings decades of elite command and technical expertise to Qool Energy. A veteran of the Israeli Navy, Udi has transitioned from a distinguished military career to spearheading a wide spectrum of complex offshore and maritime ventures.
Udi is a fierce advocate for the industry’s transition to zero-emission power. In addition to his leadership at Qool, he serves as the founder of Phoenician Energy, where he continues to bridge the gap between traditional maritime operations and clean energy innovation.
Dr. Michael Lerner
Co Founder &
Chief Engineering Officer
Michael was until ecently a project manager at Gencell and joined Gil as part of the founding team of Qool Energy. Michael's Phd is in thermodynamics. Michael brings over 12-years experience in ammonia to power R&D project management.
Alon Ostricher
Co Founder &
Chief Technology Support Officer
Alon was until recently a technical support manager at Gencell and joined Gil as part of the founding team of Qool Energy. Alon brings over 12-years of ammonia and hydrogen R&D experience at Gencell with previous experience in HLS technology and projects.
Adi Wienrib
Business Development
Graduate of International Relations from the IDC, a solutions-driven and out-of-the-box thinker with early-stage entrepreneurial experience and several years of work in both the Ministry of Defense and the private sector. Brings to the company a combination of broad perspective, hands-on approach, and the ability to take on complex challenges. An extreme sports enthusiast — pro skydiver, diver, and surfer — who believes this mindset fuels real innovation.
